Abdulbasit Abubakar is a writer and storyteller with a background in Development Communication. His works have appeared on Brittle Paper, Guinevere Review, Praxis Magazine, Poets in Nigeria, Words Rhymes & Rhythms, and other publications.

Abdulbasit is passionate about culture, love, and writing about the diversity of languages. He has performed at major literary events like Hausa International Book and Arts Festival in Nigeria, Constellations, More Life Poetry, Arts and Vibes, TEDxFCEZaria, and Kaduna Books and Arts Festival (Kabafest).

He has worked with organisations and brands in using poetry to address social issues and to drive key societal change through online campaigns.

He is a fellow for the Imodoye Writer’s Residency and Accountability Lab Film Fellowship.
